Revenge is a dish best served with worms?

Not so much with respest to the loaches ...but yeah. My older SA cichlids have been suggested for dinner on more then one ocassion. I made the mistake of informing folks that the Malagasy cichlid is a talipia (para now I think) ...similar to what the local supermarket sells. That is still a running joke here. On of the magazines ran an article some months back on fish that have established themselves in Florida complete with Bobs key lime cichlid recipe. I kept that issue well hidden;) Some other things I get... "At least if things go bad when Y2K hits you will have something to eat..." "Do you have shares in the electric company" and "If you spent half as much time with [insent whatever they want you to do here] as you do with those fish..." and my personal favorite "You take better care of those fish then you do your [insert whaever needs cleaning or fixing here]"
At one point I had enough of the harassing and I told people I was now charging admission to the fishroom. Even went so far as to buy a gumball machine and fill it with foodsticks as a joke. I think I was the only one who found it funny tough:) You are not alone. If you are the one preparing the meal you might want to get thier goat by telling them "It's a surprise" when they ask what is for dinner. Serve some orange ruffy, lemon sole, or some such breaded and fried. After the first bite explain that some of the fish died and you could not see letting them go to waste. After all it was their suggestion. You could work the same angle buy buying fresh beefheart to feed your fish. Tell them it is for dinner. The smell should be enough to geat their stomaches working overtime. Live worms keet in a dish next to the milk:) They only tease you because they love you:)
Just some thoughts BB
