Question on Java Ferns

As I said I went to a fish store today and I bought a couple fish. I also got a java fern. this was a weird one though. Instead of the normal single leaf coming out, it had half of the normal single leaf, and then it split into three separate branches kinda like the picture below. It WAS a java fern though, because of the way the leaves were, you could tell what it was. I have this now in my tank. How should I plant it? Should I burry it in gravel like other plants or tie it with fishing string to a piece of driftwood like is suggested?
