Don't know what the crustacean could be. I would doubt, in fact I'm practically certain, that it is not a brine shrimp (artemia). As the name implies, they need brine to survive. They'll manage for a few hours in sweet water, which is what you have. To quantify as brine you would need at least as much salt as there is in sea water. I hope your loaches and other fish are not in that much salt :)
Could it be a snail? Have you looked at it under a magnifying glass? How many legs etc. Has anyone any ideas what this could be ? Hans, I seem to remember you posting once about a
