I'll second the oto advice - I bought three on friday afternoon, and since their introduction have now virtually stripped the tank of any algae deposits. I fed an algae wafer last night and within half an hour, all three were stuck to it like glue - nothing would shift them.

Also, I've heard/read somewhere that providing an hour lights-off period in the middle of the normal lights-on supposedly restricts algal growth while not harming the plants. Anyone care to shed some further light on this :-) not exceeding 14 hours, please ...
