Dave, I definetly hear my Botias clicking all the time. But I was just trying to figure out if different species make different clicking noises, which I'm pretty sure they don't. For example, My Skunk Botias seem to have lighter shorter just like my Clown Loaches in the same tank. Another species that I could compare are the Botia Caudipunctata. My B. Caudipunctata are the noisest fish I own. You can hear them from the TV room, wich is from the opposite side of the room. How do I know it's them? Well, I can distinguish their clicks pretty well from the B. Beauforti, and B. Helodes, by the deep and very loud clicks they mkae. I have only really heard my Botia Dario or Botia Rostrata clicking on ocassions, but they do. But the thing that confuses me is this. When all of my peaceful Botias are clicking away,(in 80 gallon: Botia Dario, B. Sidthimunki, B. Morleti, B. Lohachata, B. Striata, B. Macracunthus, B. Rostrata, and somehat peaceful B. Modesta) they all pretty much sound the same. But in my other tank with the more aggressive Botias (B. Beauforti, B. Helodes, and B. Caudipunctata) they all have different types of clicks. Could it be that The peaceful Botia species, are more related to one another, and the aggressive Botia species are not as close with the peaceful Botias? Any suggestions???
Mike
