Yoyos fighting?

Strange happenings in one of my tanks. I fed Bloodworms for the first time in ages and shortly after my 2 biggest Yoyos started a fight that lasted for about 2 hours.

They faded their patterning down to a brownish/grey with light hints of their normal striping........a sort of Yoyo equivalent of Clown graying, like Mike Ophir (wasn't it?) described a short while back.

The fighting was quite viscious, with each fish inverting and seemingly trying to bite at the other fish's anus and underside. They also sort of whipped each other with their bodies. I watched fascinated for a long time, and never saw any hint of spine erection, so they didn't get *really* serious.

So was it really fighting or something else? Neither fish shows any sign of damage.

Hmmmmmm..........

Martin.
