I use aluminized mylar tape, but I can get it cheap:) I have heard of it being available in some hydroponics shops, you may be able to pick up a very small piece cheap as a scrap. Also a lot of people feel white paint is just as good. I am not sure what's wrong with aluminum foil, why not. I'd say keep it clean and look ingo adding a second bulb, it is a lot easier in the long run. You or you can have someone retrofit that hood to hold 2 bulbs for about 20 bucks. You would need a new balast and a pair of lamp holders.
