In Response To: Re: Clown loach with ick (Joe Loach)

Thanks alot both of you for the info! We seemed to have caught the loach in the early stage of ick, luckily. Today, he has a new white spot, but the three that were on him yesterday have faded somewhat. We are going to do the water change and turn up the temp to 85 degrees (or a little higher) and try the heat cure. We can't add salt or keep the lights out because we have THRIVING plants in our tank. So hopefully just the water change and the heat will work. Now we also have 2 Angels, 1 Rainbow Shark, 3 Rosy Barbs and 3 White Cloud Mountain Minnows in the tank (along with the 3 clown loaches), will the heat affect them at all?? One of our White Cloud Mountain Minnows has a slight case of Pop-eye, so we would like to continue using the Maracyn II to cure that (good idea???). Also, I was told that the Maracyn II would kill the good bacteria in our Bio-wheel...is that true?? This is our first tank in about 7 years so I know alot has changed since then and I appreciate all the help you guys give!!

Thanks again,

Liza
