clown loach-not eating-questions-please help!

I have read that sometimes clown loaches will not eat. I just purchased my first 2 clown loaches yesterday. One is hanging out in a corner doing vertical swimming, which I have also read is normal. My concern is that it seems really thin compared to the other, and doesn't seem to be eating. I've seen it move around the tank only 2x. The other is much more active around the tank. It was hanging out around the other but was still eating. Actually, it was making rather a pig of itself, on my recent small snail explosion. The fatter one has started the vertical swimming now also, and it is no longer actively moving around the tank.

I'm wondering if the eating behavior is disease related, and if so is it contagious? Should I return the thin
