They never do seem satisfied. Thats why my loach tanks are always active. They are perpetually hopeful that there are leftovers lurking somewhere & they are determined to uncover them.

There is something that zookeepers do for their animals to encourage them to be active in more natural & constructive ways, called "enrichment." It often means making them "work" for their food, to simulate foraging in the wild. Like scattering dried corn in hay bedding so the monkey has to pick & search for it, hiding food in containers that bears must open, etc. Maybe we can figure out a way to tuck away some algae tablets under bogwood or between rocks that will keep them occupied trying to get at it, a little bit a time. Plus, it would be entertaining to watch. One thing I have used before was the black plastic, slotted pots that aquatic plants often come in. I actually used it, overturned, so that my pygmy cories & kuhlis could get to food & the bigger fish wouldnt steal it.
