In Response To: Huh? (Cinder)

Well, perhaps things have changed since I was up there. But I remember trying to purchase some aquatic plants at a LFS in Vancouver, B.C., years ago, and I learned that transporting *any* plants over the boarder was a no-no. They told me I could purchase them, but transport them at my own risk. (HEADLINES: PASTOR DETAINED AND QUESTIONED AT BORDER FOR AQUARIUM PLANTS! AMERICAN EMBASSY INVOLVED! FILM AT 11:00!) Perhaps rules have changed, or there simply are a lot of people who don't know...or sneak 'em anyway.

I wouldn't see any harm in aquarium plants...but...yaknow....when the border guard questions you by saying: "How long was your stay?" ...and..."Did you purchase anything during your stay?" That hint of fear in your eyes will be a dead give away when ya say: "Nope." Then the guard will grow a giant grin on his/her face, and ask you to pull over your car to the side to be inspected. Then the guard will say: "Ya look like a fish keeper ta me, Miss...an' I know where there's fishies there's plants? AM I RIGHT?!!!! STRIP THE CAR, BOYS!!!!!"

Sheesh. Sorry, Cinder, I just couldn't resist. Hehehe! :-)
