I purchased a Dojo loach nearly a year ago. Up until two weeks ago, he was kept in a small 10 gallon aquarium. I noticed that it occasionally dug around in the gravel, but the gravel wasn't deep enough for it to dig underneath. It just shuffled the gravel around. Two weeks ago I purchased a 55 gallon aquarium and I put my fish in it. about three days after transferring the fish, my loach disappeared. I have about two inches worth of gravel in the bottom of this tank, so I think that perhaps my loach has dug beneath the gravel and buried himself. Is this normal, or should I consider my loach dead? I haven't been able to locate any remains, and my only other fish are Goldfish, so I do not believe that my loach was eaten. If it's dead, I would like to buy another, but I don't want to have to buy a new one if it isn't deceased. Please e-ma
