Yes, weather loach are very active after 'lights out' when they will swim round the tank extremely fast. Don't worry about rooting round in the gravel a bit to see if the loach is there, it will not hurt it as they are very tough and agile creatures! I would be very interested to hear from any loach fans out there to correspond by e-mail, I am particularly interested in trying to breed the weather loach and to create a tank which is as close to their natural habitat as possible. Anyone any ideas?? Great forum by the way!
