Behavior of Clown Loach

Hi! I just got my first clown loach a week ago. I had little snails in my tank and the pet store recommended I get one. Since finding your website I understand I should have more than one (which the store did not tell me). I plan to purchase another one, but I have question before I do. When I first put mine in the tank he was very active, sticking his nose in the gravel, up and down the glass, etc. Now he has gone inside a rock and I hardly ever see him. Last night and this morning he was in the front of the tank laying on his side and I was afraid he was dying until I found your website and understand this is quite normal for them. I just want to confirm that first of all. Also I have been treating an angelfish, who is in the same tank, with Freshwater Maracyn as recommended by the fish store because he hasn't been eating and seems listless and has a little white spot on top of his head. I asked if the medicine would hurt my other fish (including the clown loach) and was told it would not harm them. I understand clown loaches are sensitive to medicine so could someone please let me know if it is indeed okay to leave him in the tank while it's being treated with Maracyn and also if his behavior is normal. I've had a tank for only a year now and would really appreciate some "expert" advice. Thanks you!
