Martin,
superb idea, tho' I can't remember the last time I had an ich outbreak - I think it was when I last added fish to the tank (brought with the new fish/stress/change in water parameters/etc). Some easy means of collecting the information would be extremely useful, either in the form of an online database or spreadsheet or something(I'm pretty sure Access 97 has an online capability, tho' I'm not sure - I only have Access 2) - being from the software profession, I'm sure I'd be able to help somehow -- BB, any chance you could mail me a copy of your database -- thanks...
If enough useful information is collated, maybe an aquatic pharmaceutical company may be able to make use of the information.
I would imagine that the following parameters would be useful to collect (with varying degrees of importance: Water temp, pH, general hardness, carbonate hardness, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, light duration, light intensity, last water change date, % water changed, filtration method, last gravel clean, any additions/changes to fish bio-loading, any additions/changes to decor & tank environment.
Feel free to amend/add/remove items from this list - any suggestions, good people ???
cheers,
Steve
