JD you read my mind about the differences between feeding and aggressive behavior. As far as the mechanism of sound production it is not known in botias but is almost certainly related to the swim bladder (the lit says this and so did that sound production lady). Thanks guys for the species list. JD, I'd forgotten about dario as I don't presently have any but I remember mine also being noisy. If I had to wager a bet I'd say that my 6" clown loaches on a bad day are the noisest. However, I also have kept some large modesta that really pack a punch. Certainly, skunks are extremely loud for there size. I'll keep you guys informed and thanks for everybodies help-Tom
