Unfortunately all I can do is relay my experiences. I don't have any with regards to keeping them in a community setting. All I could do is speculate.
With that in mind, I could not (based on what I have seen) put this fish in a community tank. They are agressive and establish a territory. I love this fish and haven't explored all the options out there. I stopped when I had someting that they and I could live/thrive with. If I were to try to keep other sp. in the same aquaria it would be with a small central or south american cichlid that would appreciate the slightly acidic ph. This is what I do for my morletti. I don't know? I'm sure there are others that keep b.lochata in a community setting aren't there?
