Need an ID

I need help identifying a loach ( doesn't everyone? ), it was bought about six months ago from a tank labeled as 'Bengal loach', I asked the latin name and was told that it was imported as B. macracantha - which the pet shop owner was a little annoyed about because it isn't - neither were half of the other fish in the shipment.

It's about 3 inches now, active at all times of day with a penchant rooting around in the gravel. It's very similar to B. hymenophysa - the banded loach but it has a rounded face, the colour of the dark bands is very dark and almost purple and the wide pale bands are equal in thickness to the dark and golden yellow, in each of the dark bands there is also a fine line of yellow. The colouration extends almost to the belly.
