This Monday, I went to my largest LFS (Swallow Aquatics) and bought myself 2 new Clowns the same size as my other 4. Whilst the guy was packing them up and telling me ,"You know these get big, don't you?", I naturally said, "Yes" and then did the LOL-plug routine and started questioning him about loach-imports. Interesting stuff started to come out. Some of the shop staff had gone to Singapore to visit exporters, and he felt that the reason that we seem to now be seeing more species becoming available is that due to rapid de-forestation and destruction of natural habitat it is actually becoming easier for catchers to access the areas that the fish come from.
