This must be a scary sight! Are you far enough along in the treatment that you could get away with a water change? I have little faith in the ick cures and I do find that adding salt and raising the temp is helpful. My latest outbreak with my beloved clowns seemed to go away after I changed water to get the meds out and added salt. I had a death in the family, so I didn't fret so much and they got better. I also left the light off for several days. Hope the guy gets better quickly!
