Kirsten, I just lost a striata to exactly what you described "paralizing seizures (i.e. is on his side, fast breathing, stunned)". Since none of the others in the community tank had symptoms of any illeness what-so-ever, I moved it to a smaller 'quieter' tank for rehab. I was devastated but didn't medicate because I couldn't figure out what the problem was. Most of the time I found it on it's side with fluttering gill movement. Although there were periods were it appeared OK and swam normal and I watched it eat at feedings. I guess I was just hoping that whatever the problem was, it would resolve. This condition lasted about 10 days before it passed. In the duration of it's illness, it did not appear to get progressively wor
