In Response To: that's a disgusting markup (Hyp)

Consider if you will the fact that I worked in the fish Importers in '69-'71 and kuhlis sold retail for about 10 shillings in old money, or 50p as I recall. When the Jaguar XJ12 came out in the early '70's it cost 3500 pounds. A new Jag XJ costs what? 40,000 pounds now? And kuhlis are 1.25 pounds (or less).

This is not parrallel inflation....us fishkeepers are getting a deal!

250% markup is at face value a rip-off, true, but market forces set prices.

I wonder what the Jag costs to manufacture?

The soapbox is clear and I'm not getting up on it anymore! Well not on this subject, anyway!!!!!!

Martin.
