prevent ich??

hello there,well,i just bought 3 clown loaches today (about 2" ea.i paid $20!!) and ive had clowns before,but they all died of ich,very discouraging.i love these fish,ive been on a natural high all day because they look very healthy and down here its very hard to find a decent size (yes,down here,2" is decent) clown,especially a healty one.i was wondering if there is any way possible to prevent ich at all? i would really really hate to lose these beauties to that evil disease again.thank you.
