Dots vs. Solids

Have any of you noticed the "dots" and the "solids" acting differently toward each other??? I have noticed that Pele (a dot) seems to hang more by himself... and I used to think it was because I got him later than the others... but now I am wondering if the dot/solid thing is an issue...
