My 3 clowns are very distinguishable. However, I bought them all at different times, yet from the same Petco store. The first one, Ratface, is dark yellow with very dark orange fins. His black stripes are a little gray-looking. The second one, Whitey, is pale yellow (hence the name) with orange fins, and his black stripes are very gray-looking. He's very skittish, so that might account for it. The third one, Goldie, is a golden yellow, dark orange fins with--yes--a black spot on his pectoral(?)(the ones in the middle)fins. The dorsal fins on all are mostly black, some with a little yellow at the front. Ratface (the one with the darkest coloring) doesn't have the dark gray streak down the front spiny part of his head that the others do. They are all basically the same size length-wise, except Goldie is a little less wide (from top to bottom). Whitey always has a bulge in his(?) stomach, but (s)he's always eating--especially the algae wafers I drop in for the Chinese Algae Eater. That must be why the cae chases Whitey sometimes--to keep him/her away from his food!
