Yep, less efficient when used with air.

According to the manufacturers (Hagen) specifications the breakdown looks like this for continuous use;

Model 201 with air 420 liters/hour and without air 480 l/hr when bled:) Model 301 with air 540 l/hr and without 660 l/hr Model 402 with air 948 l/hr and without 1020 l/hr Model 802 with air 1500 l/hr and without 1320 l/hr

To convert to gallons per hour multiply liters by 3.785411784 or just 3.8 :) The proposed tank will hold approximately 114 liters. I'll use the disolved oxygen meter I bought (I don't even remember why) and see what the difference is ,so long as I can find the device fluval makes. Just as a matter of curiousity. BB
