Do your loaches know who you are?

I have noticed that my clown loaches respond to my voice.

I have a 120 gallon tank 18 inches from the foot of my bed. Great for when I want to fall asleep watching fish antics.

The loaches hang out at the back of the tank underneath a pile of bog roots. When I get home and go to the bedroom there are no loaches anywhere. I can stay there and as long as I say nothing, the loaches cannot be seen. However, as soon as they hear my voice they all come out and pile up on top of each other at the corner of the tank closest to me.

If anyone else tries this the loaches do not respond.

Furthermore if anyone outside of the immediate family is in the room the loaches stay in hiding. So much for showing off my loaches to any friends!
