I have never kept an 8" clown loach, so I cannot tell you for sure, but I have never had a problem keeping large (6") and small (1") clown loaches together. Usually only the ones which are similar size will fight/play with one another. If the smaller ones will fit in the larger one's mouth, you might worry. Where did you get your 8" clown loaches from or did you grow them? How old are they?
