how many bottom dwellers in a tank?

I would like to add clown loaches to my 55-gal. tank. In addition to many plants, it is decorated with bogwood, driftwood, and rock and flower-pot caves. Current bottom dwellers include 2 gold nugget plecos (ancistrus? baryancistrus? Sources don't agree), 2 raphael catfish (agamyxis pectinifrons), 6 corydoras aeneus and a zillion snails (the little elongated, cone-shaped Malayan kind, I think, that burrow way down in the gravel and come out at night). There is a lot of shelter in the tank, and I can always add more. Are clown loaches compatible with these catfish, and if so, is there room in this tank for them? How many? (I know they need to be in a group.) I
