Used Kordon Ammonia Test kit and have got a reading of 0.61ml/L in the test water cube which I take to be the nitrogen level. If I take 0.61 times 1.3 to find out the total ammonia, per the instructions, I get a total of 0.793. But if I go to their corresponding table for .75 mg/L Total Ammonia as Nitrogen, the intersecting number for 6.5pH and 80.6 degrees F = 0.002081. The pamphlet alludes to 0.1-0.6 mg/L total ammonia as harmful, so is my tank reading really 0.793 or 0.002081 mg/L of ammonia? Is my nitrogen level 0.61 or 0.793? Are any or all of these numbers good or bad?
I've a 5-week old, diatom filled, 55g planted tank with 6 clown loaches (ranging from 1" to 2-1/2") and one tiger barb (1-1/4") with a 6.8 pH. Age water treated with Genesis (removes only chlorine). Have had five &quo
