Why thank you! Loaches ON-LINE wouldn't be what it is today, though, without everyone's help in answering questions here on the webboard and contributing pictures and info for the species index. It's the community that makes a good web site strong. I started LOL simply because I couldn't find any information on loaches on the net (this was a few years ago).
However, this same situation doesn't exist for corys on the internet, as such sites (although not as large as LOL) do exist for the species. Take a look at ScotCat, at ( http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/AJames1/ ), and a Japanese language site that features the Corydoras Encyclopedia showing pics of adults and fry. ( http://www.mars.dti.ne.jp/~yamyam/index-e.html ) Although a site combining all of these features (and perhaps a message board like this) would be nice, I really don't think there's room in the "market" for another web site on the topic. It would be more difficult to get people to submit articles and pictures in a more diverse market, so I think a COL would have trouble growing significantly.
Well, that's my take on the issue. Does anythink think there's a market for a webboard like this one, but focused on cory's? Building a community of interested people would be the logical first step. I could talk to the other webmasters in the area, and see if they want to excange links/logo's. (I don't think there's another species board out there...) It wouldn't be much trouble to set up, but would enough people be interested? Then again, two years ago I never would have thought that there were this many people who loved loaches so much!
Hmmmmn....
Jeff
