Post disease tank treatment ?

We had an outbreak of some disease, which we belive was "flesh worms". It killed all of the gouramis we had but seemed to leave the loaches alone. Now that they are the only residents of the tank, how do we treat it and for how long before it it safe to add other fish ? We have 1 piece of driftwood, which I have boiled, 1 small rock, and 3 live plants.

Any suggestions ?
