Dear Tina,

Thank you for the reply. As a matter of fact if you read a wide number of articles around the web there is no definitie view that these fish should be kept any particular number other than at least a pair. Similarly there is no definitie view regarding partner fish, number of water changes, ph, hardness, or temperature. Feel free to check and I would suggest you check out the various sites on the Aqua webring yourself. In particular look at the article on Loaches On-line whe a guy makes 50% water changes each week - everything I have read says this is wrong, but it works for him! Have you any incisive and blinding views on that?

As I said I am a relative newcomer and I will no doubt make mistakes. I hoped forums such as this would guide me with constructive advice, not sarcasm. I want my aquarium to be good for the fish and relaxing for me. There is little point in keeping fish who hide all day long. If it is my mistake then I will find an alternative hone for them. If it is disease or environmental I will correct it. At the moment I haven't got a clue what is wrong and your comments are not constructive. I appreciate that everyone has an opinion, but there is a right way and a wrong way to put that across. Yours is wrong.

If I need a minimum of 6 then I will get some more. I want these little guys to be happy. I will wait until a few more replys are posted to see if your advice should be taken.
