To laterite, or not to laterite, that is the question!

Hello

I will be buying a new tank to replace one that has been set up for 11 months.

I will be using the gravel from the old tank. How do I do that without making a bloody mess of things due to the laterite in the gravel?

I want to clean out the gravel, is there a clever way to do this without removing all of the laterite in the gravel?

I want to be able to completely gravel vacuum the new tank, inbetween the plants. Any way to do this with laterite? Do the benefits of laterite outweigh the negatives of not gravel vacuuming?

My inclination at this point is to wash the gravel and forget about the laterite.

Your comments are sincertly appreciated,

Wintek
