I don't know what I did to get my plant to do so well...but even though my clown loach and gouramis nibble on it, it has done well. My water conditions are: ph of about 6.9, no amonia, high light, water temp 81 or 82(kinda hot I know...), and the plastic container which the roots are burried in are deep below my gravel. I doubt this will help much, but I hope it helps you some way. I am not sure the species of plant because my dad got it a long time ago and gave it to me when I started my tank.
