NO MORE CHEMICALS

I have had it with chemicals and the lack of available information on how to used them with reliable success!
This past weekend we decided to create the perfect enviroment for our loaches. We have a 80 gallon (had) with 5 Clown Loaches, 4 Kuhli loaches, 4 Yoyos and a varied bunch of other fish that swim mid and upper levels. On Friday we introduced peat filtering to bring down our well water that was about 12 total hardness and a ph of 7.4 . I brought the water down to about 6.8 which I was really happy with and satified with the results, and didn't think it happened all that fast (yah right I guess!) Then on the weekend I began doing our weekly 30 - 40% water change. Now here is my thinking.... Okay I don't want to stress the fish so I will lower the ph before I add it to the tank. But I don't want to lift all the heavy
