In Response To: Re: pH (Dr. Momfish)

Thankyou for your advice. I am just catious because once my pH went down so far that my tank started to grow this weird orange stuff. It killed all of my fish except two gold angels who died later from rapid water change.

For Dr. Momfish: (or anyone else with knowledge of harlequin rasboras) I am interested in your Harlequin Rasboras. How old do they really get? I tend to buy small fish like that in pairs just so that they aren't too lonely. I have had mine since I first set up my tank....it is the oldest fish in there(they are very hardy except one of them commited suicide.) Mine is about 4 years old. Is this strange or common for this species. The fish store called them Harlequin "tetras" so I couldn't find any info on them until I was flipping through the pages of my fish ecyclopedia thing and saw their picture. I was surprised to learn their real names...anyways more to the point is it really possible to have them spawn in captivity? I know I had a male and a female, until one died and now i cannot compare their triangles so I have no idea which gender is the one I have left.
