Not knowing what you know as the pakistani loach or how knowledgable your lfs is makes it hard to say deffinately not. However the pakistani loach is the same as the yoyo loach and the scientific name for this species is botia lhachata. The dwarf loach or dwarf chained loach is another species and the scientific name is botia sidthimunki. Both species are represented in the species archive. If you go to the very top of the fourm and click on the Loaches On-Line logo and then click on the species index on the left in the first pink box you can see images of both species if you scroll down and click on them. If you are still unsure you could always describe the pakistani loach and it should be easy enough to tell which species it is:) There is a comprehensive list of loach species that JD created on his site entitled "The name game" I think. It lists species and all the common names one might encounter it being sold as. There is nothing else like that list tmk and it is definately worth a look. Failing all the phsyicial difference between the two there is always the asking price for the fish. If there are sids being sold as pakistani loaches and the price to match ..count me in for two dozen:) BB
