Glad to hear about your lust for loaches. One sidenote re: what others have said so far to your post. These people have recommended wide-bottom tanks as the de-facto conception about loaches is that they are bottom dwellers. But to tell you the truth, after my loaches (mainly clowns, but a few other specs. as well) get accustomed to my tank, they swim up and down, side to side and of course, alont he bottom. But I LOVE watching them zoom all over the place and if I had a shorter tank, I wouldn't get the same effect. If you've got a wide-bottom tank, you can't enjoy them as much and to tell you the truth, I don't think you'll be sacrificing the health or comfort-level of the fish if you opt for a taller tank over a wider tank (since you mentioned your intent on
