The fading colours definitely seems to be a dominance thing although having said that, the base colours on my four yoyo's varies from very dark to very pale, so I really notice when the very dark one goes pale. Whereas if it is the pale one, it is only by comparison when s/he is next to another yoyo.

As to sexing clowns, no-one really knows although at least one book says it is the shape of the tail fins. But they grow big. The books say that 9" or more is quite normal and really old ones get to be a foot. So I wouldn't worry too much about sexing them. They probably only reach sexual maturity when
