Hi everyone,
Sorry for the late response. I was out of town late last week and weekend, and didn't have a chance to check the webboard until tonight. I do remember visiting the fishbase.org site right before leaving, though, and finding some very nice pictures there!
According to the text at the bottom of each photo page, "The copyright remains with the photographers. If you want to use any of the photos, please contact the photographers for permission." I'm not sure about the ones listed as "Ref. No. ...", I might stay away from those for now. There's only a few anyway, and I could add a link from the species index straight to the fishbase citation page for those without any difficulties. If you're volunteering for the email job, BB, go ahead! :-) If not, I could do it myself, it's certainly worth the time and effort. The contributors tended to send in several pictures each, making the job a bit faster. (can anyone say "form letter?") I would place a copy on my server, since it's bad manners to simply leech off of someone else's equiptment and bandwidth. Space isn't too much of an issue on my server. A few more megabytes (over 100) and I'll start getting billed a little bit for the extra space (you wouldn't believe how much the search engine takes up). But it's worth it for good pictures and the loach forum archive!
