Please excuse the long post.

Well, I have a bit of a sorry tale to tell with one of my new Botia modestas. After spending 2 weeks in a small tank waiting for any adverse symptoms to apear I decided to transfer one of the modestas to the main loach tank, ( 66gal). I could not catch the other one. He went into the transfer bowl where I mix the tank waters slowly over 1/4 - 1/2 an hour. The tank was opened up at the top and he was just next to the tank opening, in the bowl, with a cover over most of it. While he acclimatized, ( I add a cup at a time to the bowl), I had a meal. When I back looked he was gone. I head a plop during the meal and came to have a look. I scoured around the tank, even shinning a torch down the back and found nothing. The logical thing seemed to be he had jumped into the tank. As there are 1001 hidy holes
