update- dying clown loaches

Thank you for all your advise, even though I found the two I had separarated dead this morning, (this is going to sound silly) I don't feel so alone with my loss, only fish people really understand how you can get so attached to a fish/s. It all happened so fast. I'm going to get my tank back into good order, with another decent water change, I'll add some salt and keep the heater on. Then I'll buy some more babies. I guess I,ll get some tiger barbs too. I like the look of them, but I always thought they caused trouble because they like to nip fins.

What is a nice size group of loaches? Do the different varieties hang out together? Is it a case of 'the more the merrier'?
