loaches/not eating/water changes

Dear Jeff,
I have been keeping fish for more than 15 years and loaches are one of my favorites. I currently have 5 clowns in a 220 gal tank. 4 of the 5 clown were purchased at 1" and the largest have grown to 4" in 9 months. The other one is a large 8" clown. This one is my favorite of my whole collection. He or she is very robust and after feeding his or her stomach would bulge out considerablely. I believe the secret of my success is to give them plenty of room to swim. Aside from the 0.5 hp motor I used for filtering, I also have two 1000 gal per hour power head circulating water within the tank. The purpose is to produce as much current as possible without overpowering them (which is hard to do). I provide them with numerous logs for hiding. I keep
