Use Formaldehyde and Malachite Green, and hurry

I just purchased a textbook on parasitology, so here goes:

When you treat with high temp and salt, what you do is, if the fish is not too sick, give it a chance to develop immunity to the parasite (ick).

I've been reading posts about ick reappearing when people add new fish. This is because the ick is already there in the tank but can't find a unresistant host until the new fish is introduced.

The only way to get rid of the parasites from you aquarium is to use formaldehyde and malachite green. They kill the free swimming ick before it gets a chance to burrow itself
