Clowns and their stripes

Hello again! im just starting to get used to my 2 new clowns and their behavior and knowing whats "normal" for them. Im noticing that every once in awhile and especially during feeding their black striped start to pale.. instead of a deep dark black like usual.. (when they get excited like druing feeding) their stripes turn to a faded almost grayish... then turn back to deep black. is it normal for their stripes to fade in and out like this?
