Disease - PLEASE HELP!!

I do not know who to turn to, and I thought that someone here might know, or even have an answer to my question.

Once, some months ago actually, I bought two clown loaches for my fresh water aquarium. They seemed well in the beginning but after a while they began to grown very slender, so slender indeed that their backs looked like knifes, thin and sharp, and I could see their insides under the skin. Also, their gills are very red, blushing even, I do not know if that is of any importance.

Looked rather horrid. One of them turned worse and worse, until it lay gasping on the side and finally died.

Now, I feed my fish. I really do. Quite much in fact, with all sorts of food. Nothing wrong with that. All my other fish are feeling quite well, turning really fat in fact.
