the batik loach has the same body and head shape as mine, but mine has a different pattern. did you get to see the link i provided before it dropped off the page? mine has more defined vertical stripes that are almost the same width, more like the schistura montana at the link. he's fearless and stays in the open, even though he has lots of retreats. he's still (except for his eyes, which are always moving) until food drops in and then he eats all over the tank; at the surface, in the midwater column, and scavenging bits that get to the bottom. he has defended himself against the tentative approaches of a larger mollie and zebra danios quite well. is it outrageous to think he may be a schistura montana? and
