I'm not entirely certin I know what a uni-lift is but sounds like it might be a handtruck with a tiedown/sinch. Like the kind you can rent from U-Haul? You did not mention tank size so it is hard to comment much. Imho I like the better safe then sorry method as well. Coworkers, neighbors, family ..get 'em all involved:) I personaly would think twice about moving a tank with water in it. They just are not designed for stress like that. I have moved 10 gallon tanks that were full and that worked ok. Tried to pick up a 2 and 1/2 gallon with one hand and squeezed too tight and had it shatter. Slid a 47 flatback and stand that was full across a concrete floor because I was too lazy to break it down. Perhaps a large trashcan on a dolly, (rubbermaid makes a roughneck w/ a seperate dolly you might use) would allow you to move the water safely. Might be cheaper then the uni-lift, and you get a new trashcan out of the deal:) Using people has the advantage of not having to lean the tank and having the substrate disturbed too much , and greatly reduces any stress on the seams I think. Just my thoughts:) BB
