quarantine period/medication

I used to put all my new freshwater fish in a quarantine tank where I would feed my fish medicated food containing metronidazole.Concurrently I would use a medication containing acriflavine and methylene blue.Does anyone know if this is safe to use with loaches?I was thinking that the methylene blue, even in small amounts would be deadly to a loach.I was also wondering if levamisole would be a better choice to feed to a loach during quarantine. My loach is being held in a tank that contains snails that I would like to eliminate before introducing the loach/plants to the main tank.Instead of feeding metronidazole to my loach would adding metronidazole to the water have the same effect while working against the snails?
